The editors attempt a difficult job - to present a broad cross-section of Australian Aboriginal literature. They have selected ten works, five narratives and five poems. The selection is quite good, ranging from experiences in remote areas and towns to political and cultural issues. All texts are in German and English, a very rare and model effort to make this kind of literature accessible to German readers. However, the collection also has its weaknesses, which come from the selected texts as well as from the bilingual approach.
