Haunted by the disappearance of her twin brother in Hong Kong, photographer Anna Frasier travels home to Sydney. Beginning a photographic study of fossilised ammonite shells she meets Seth LaMarque, a blind palaentologist, and his sister Rachel, a lawyer working with the homeless. As Anna's work progresses she finds herself drawn deeper into Seth and Rachel's lives. But her brother's absence binds her to a past she cannot escape, until she returns to Hong Kong to find him.
