Named in honour of the Weighbridge, the location where growers deliver fruit to the winemakers every day during vintage at Peter Lehmann Wines and where relationships are forged and great wines are born.

A rich and vibrant wine perfect for everyday drinking, a wine that displays strong varietal definition. This is a delicious style of shiraz, instantly appealing and a great partner with food.

The colour is cherry red with hints of dark plum and chocolate on the nose. A fruit driven palate with a soft tannin finish. A wine to give immense enjoyment in its youth.

The fruit was fermented on skins for seven days prior to pressing, clarification and blending. A portion of the wine was matured with French and American oak for 12 months prior to bottling but this is essentially a fruit-driven style.

Enjoy this fresh, lively shiraz as a delicious partner for steak, meat based pasta dishes and pizza. Also splendid with a good matured cheese.

Intense nose with blackberries, plums, raspberries and some coffee. The palate offers plums, cherries and a hint of spiciness. Very low tannin, normal acids, short finish.

Eight Songs Shiraz was born of the Lehmann Family's love of art and music and inspired by an operatic work, ‘Eight Songs for Mad King’, first performed in the Barossa in 1993.

The Barossa stands amongst the great wine regions of the world. From this region, Shiraz can express diversity in flavour, style and texture. The diverse terroir of our growers’ Barossa vineyards is reflected in the character of our wines. Soils, elevations and vine age vary from one vineyard to the next. The heart of Eight Songs lies in the old Shiraz vineyards spread across the landscape of the Barossa. During the vintage, we walk these vineyards, which typically yield less than 2.5 tonnes per acre, tasting the fruit, seeking the concentrated flavours we need for this style of Shiraz.

With Eight Songs we show an elegant and distinctly softer side to Barossa Shiraz. Fermented and matured in 100% new French oak hogsheads the palate shows dark plums, choc/ mocha notes with hints of vanillin undertones. The seamless integration of opulent fruit and velvety tannins creates an elegant expression of Barossa Shiraz at its sensuous best.
