A Steve Parish Kids Story Book

Bright graphics and beautiful colourful photographs by Steve Parish are accompanied by simple text and easy-to-follow story lines. The repetition of sounds and actions encourage children to join in, repeat the noises and answer questions - and of course learn to read!

This colourfully illustrated anthology contains six short stories with Australian animals as the main characters. Those stories are Harry the Hairy-Nosed Wombat, Rufus the Red Kangaroo, Bobuck the Mountain Possum, Kolo the Bush Koala, Percy the Peaceful Platypus and Rusty the Nimble Numbat. Parts of each story provide information on each of the animals such as diet, habitat etc, as well as broader issues such as conservation and extinction.

The author Nan Bodsworth was born at Swan Hill and spent her childhood on a farm beside the Murray River. She studied Art in Melbourne, and has worked as an art teacher, medical artist and designer.
